About

Thirty acres in the valley that runs down to Chesil. It began in 1765 as the Countess of Ilchester's kitchen garden and is Grade I on the register of historic parks, with more than 6,000 species and a viewpoint at the top that takes in the beach from Portland to Lyme Regis. Open every day, 10 to 5, last entry 4. Adults £15, children 5 to 15 £7.50, under 5s free. Dogs on short leads. Café, plant centre and its own parking, a mile west of the village on Buller's Way.
