Where they can go, where they need a lead, and the one place they cannot go at all.
At the Abbotsbury end of Chesil, dogs are welcome all year round. Further along towards Portland, from the tank teeth boundary onwards, they have to be on a lead on the seaward side from 1 September to 30 April. The Fleet behind the beach is a nature reserve with no access along the shore for anyone.

The coast path and the ridge cross working farmland. Keep dogs on a lead near livestock, and on the cliff and shingle sections where the drop or the sea is close.
