When something goes wrong
Who to ring, or where to report it, for the things that go wrong in a village: power cuts, potholes, water, bins, buses, the coastguard. Each has its own page with the detail.
Roads and roadworks
Potholes, broken surfaces and anything dangerous on the road go to Dorset Council Highways. The number is answered round the clock for anything dangerous. Planned roadworks on the B3157 and the lanes are on the council's roadworks map.

Water and sewage
Wessex Water, 24 hours, for burst pipes, no water and sewer flooding.
Buses
First Bus, X53 and X52.
Coastguard
For anyone in trouble at sea or on Chesil. Ring 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
Police, non-emergency
Dorset Police.
Doctor
There is no surgery in the village. The nearest is Portesham Surgery, 01305 871468, Monday to Friday 8.30 to 1 and 2 to 6, and it dispenses. Out of hours, 111.
